Island peak climbing locally known as Imja Tse peak is most popular climbing peak in Nepal. Island peak climbing in Chunkung valley, provides some of the most spectacular scenery of Himalayas. Another name of Island Peak is Imja Tse. Island peak lies in Khumbu region where you can enjoy the panoramic views of Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (8501m), Lhotse Middle Peak (8410m) and Lhotse Shar (8383m) make a semi-circle in the north. The Makalu (8475m) in the east, Baruntse and Amadablam in the south, and more charming Himalayas are in other side, in climbing Island Peak. Island peak climbing is considered as most popular trekking peaks in Nepal for climbing Himalayas. Island Peak marks the beginning of climbing on Himalayas to prepare for a big Himalaya expedition in Nepal in the later years for many mountaineers. Island Peak is situated at an altitude of 6189m. This trip is a special trek which combines an ascent of Island Peak with a visit to the famous lakes of the Gokyo area. Island Peak climbing trek takes off from a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We start from Lukla and trek slowly up the Dudhkoshi valley. After some days, we branch off to Gokyo and climb Gokyo Ri for fantastic views of Cho Out and Everest. You can enjoy trekking in phakding, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, the mountain is seen as an island in a sea of ice. For many mountaineers climbing island peak marks the beginning of climbing on Himalayas to prepare for a big Himalaya and for some mountaineers. The peak island stands for the purpose of acclimatization before heading to bigger mountain climbing. Trekking to Kalapathar or Everest Base Camp is best suited for acclimatization before proceeding to the climbing on Island peak. Proper care should be taken to avoid the possible avalanche in the event of heavy snow fall. Most of the climbers prefer alpine style camping at high camp which adds the joy of climbing and also helps a safe ascent. After you finished your trek to Lukla then you can fly to Kathmandu from Lukla which will considered as an end of this marvelous trip.

The 18/19 days Island Peak Climbing is suitable for those people who are interested in peal climbing especially of Khumbu Himal in Everest Area.
