Manaslu trek is one of the most challenging treks in Nepalese Himalayas. Manaslu trekking route was opened for foreign trekkers in 1992, which rewards the adventurous with unparalleled alpine experiences and offers a rich Himalayan cultural experience. To trek in this region, you need a good trekking experience and a good physical condition. The trek ascends through Buri Gandaki river to Larkya La Pass 5213m with attractive views of Himalchuli, Manaslu 8118m, Ganesh Himal and other mountains beautiful landscape and various flora and fauna. Our trip to Manaslu trek starts at Arughat between Gorkha and Dhading district. Arughat can be reached by bus in about five to seven hours from Kathmandu. Another entrance is at Daraundi in Gorkha from where the normal route can be reached hiking via Sirdiwas. It does not require any previous trekking or mountaineering experience and doesn't mean to be young and super strong. You just need to be healthy and can walk 5 to 6 hours daily. The Manaslu trek has many routes to choose from one option passes through Dudh Pokhari a milky lake that is a common pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists. While the most popular option is to trek over the Larke La pass to arrive in Marsyangdi valley in Annapurna region. A few trekkers including peri pate tic huge swift, managed to obtain the trekking permit for the region, otherwise this trek has been the domain of mountaineering expeditions. The descent once off the snow takes us through alpine then tropical areas bursting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees, waterfalls and aqua blue green lakes laced with cotton white beaches. Finally as we descend to Besisahar Manaslu will disappear from where we drive back to Kathmandu.
This Manaslu trekking is suitable for any walker looking for something a little more challenging and energetic. The places covered by Manaslu trek are Arughat, Ghap, Samdo, Lho, Dharmashala, Lyarka La pass and Besisahar. The best season for you to explore here will be February to June and September to early December. You can further trek to Upper Dolpo, Kanchanjunga, Makalu, Tsum valley trek as per your convenient time and desire.
Manaslu Trek Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu international airport then transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparations for next day.
Day 03:. Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat (570m) 7hrs
Day 04:. Arughat to Soti Khola (530m) 6hrs
Day 05:. Soti Khola to Machha Khola (890m) 6hrs
Day 06: Machha Khola to Jagat (1350m) 6hrs
Day 07: Jagat to Philim (1700m) 4hrs
Day 08: Philim to Deng (2095m) 6hrs
Day 09: Deng to Namrung (2900m) 5hrs
Day 10: Namrung to Lho gaon (3100m) 4hrs
Day 11: Lho gaon to Samagaon (3390m) 4hrs
Day 12: Rest day for Acclimatization
Day 13: Samagaon to Samdo (3690m) 4hrs
Day 14: Samdo to Larkya La Phedi ( Dharmasthala) (4460m) 4hrs
Day 15: Larkya La Phedi (Pass 5153m) to Bimthang (3590m) 8hrs
Day 16: Bimthang to Dharapani (1860m) 6hrs
Day 17: Dharapani to Synge (1700m) 7hrs
Day 18: Synge to Bhulbhule - Kathmandu via Besi shahar (850m) 5hrs
