Manaslu Larke Pass trek is one of the popular trekking routes to cross the famous Larke La Pass (5,420m.) in Manaslu area of Nepal. Mount Manaslu (8,163 m.) is the eighth highest peak located at the boarder of Nepal and Tibet. This area is rich in cultural heritage and natural resources. The most liked area is still under the restricted area and only special permit holder can go for trekking.

The wilderness area of Manaslu trekking provides an opportunity to pass through the Larke La or Larkey Pass (5,420m.) from where one can explore the panoramic views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalayan range. The sensitive area is opened only after 1992 for foreigners to travel and mountain climbing. Now, this area is getting more popularity day by day for mountain climbing, wilderness trekking and to sample the Tibetan culture. The beautiful landscape, amazing views of snow-capped mountain peaks, rocky hills and unique culture of local people are the major highlights of this Manaslu Larke La Pass trekking.

The Manaslu Larke Pass trekking starts after the driving tour to Gorkha from Kathmandu. The lower part of the trekking is easy and gradually the difficulties increase. Some part of the trail is strenuous and need to take care more. The difficult walking around Mt. Manaslu gives you the deep memories of wilderness and ever smiling people with their age old traditional culture. Larke Pass trekking ends at Beshishahar by joining the classical Annapurna trekking trail from where you will be drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport (TIA) and our representative will meet you and transfer you to hotel by private car. You will stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Today we will busy on preparation of permit and other necessary documents. We manage the entire checklist for Larke Pass trekking. Overnight, stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: After having breakfast, we take drive from Kathmandu (1300m.) to Arughat (700m)., a small bazaar in Gokha. Stay overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 4: Trek from Arughat to Soti Khola (815m) which takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 5: Trek from Soti Khola to Labu Bensi (900m.) which takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 6: Trek from Labu Bensi to Jagat (1250m). which takes about 5 and half hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 7: Trek from Jagat to Ngyak (1950m). which takes about 7 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 8: Trek from Ngyak to Ghap (2050m) which takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 9: Trek from Ghap to Lho (3148m), explore the local buddhist monasteries on the way and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 10: Trek from Lho gaun to Samagompa (3517m) which takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp. Explore the Buddhist monasteries

Day 11: Trek from Samagompa to Samdo (3738m) takes about 6/7 hours and stay overnight at lodge / camp

Day 12: Full day rest for acclimatization. Explore around the Samdo.

Day 13: Trek from Samdo to Dharamashala(4480) which takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at camp.

Day 14: Trek form Dharamashala to Larkya La pass (5213m), and trek down to Bhimtang (3890m).Overnight stay at camp

Day 15: Trek from Bhimtang to Dharapani (1860m) takes about 6 hours and overnight stay at tea house

Day 16: Trek from Dharapani to Syange(1175m) takes about 6 hours and stay overnight at lodge

Day 17: Trek from Syange to Besisahar(825m). and stay overnight at lodge.

Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu from Beshishar on tourist bus. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Half day sightseeing of Kathmandu city visit Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath (Monkey temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight farewell dinner in Nepali restaurant

Day 20: Transfer you to airport for final departure or you can extend your trip by joining other adventure trips

Trekking Group Size

Trekking Group is termed for the group of people with every individuals who go for a trip. A minimum of 2 people and maximum number of 12 is highly recommended as the size of the group. This planning ensures complete safety of the trekkers and convenience as well. However, with conditions applied, the group size can be customized as per the request of our clients.

[Note: Crew members are not counted within the trekking group size. This exclusive group of crews include one leader, assistant leaders and porters. One assistant leader for every 4 trekkers and one porter for every 2 trekkers]

Meals and Accommodation

During your stay in Kathmandu city, at the initial and the final stages of the trip, you will be residing at a 4 star hotel. The meal facilities in our Cost Includessection takes account of only breakfast facilities at this particular hotel. During the trek, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served including varieties of snacks, cold drinks, and hot chocolate especially during the mountain part.
As mentioned above, accommodation will be facilitated at a 4 star hotel in Kathmandu. Whereas, during the trek, you will be staying at standard teahouses, lodges and camps, on twin sharing basis, that is determined by the viability of accommodation facilities at overnight stops.

Qualification

As a general idea, health condition in a good state is highly recommended for any kind of tour. As, Manaslu Larke Pass Trek is categorized under Moderate to Strenuous Level, one should have the ability to walk for at least 5 – 6 hours a day, and 8 – 9 hours in some of the days. The highest altitude that we climb in this particular trek is 5,213m/17,103ft. Trekking in higher altitudes requires more physical effort. If you have any kind of medical condition, we urge you to receive a counsel from medical experts and formally inform us before applying for this trip.

Best Season

The Best Season to go for Manaslu Larke Pass Trek is between October and May. This particular timespan provides you an efficient trekking experience with provisions of remarkable views of the environment around.

Equipment

This part is analytically the most important of all. It is a must to gain knowledge about equipment required for a well-planned trekking tour. These gears not only adds convenience to your trip but, also, is totally responsible for its completion. We have formulated a clean list of equipment required for trekking in Nepal.

Insurance

We, personally, do not sell any kind of insurances to our clients. We are, however, concerned about your safety as much as you do. Therefore, we advise you to plan a travel insurance policy before going for any of our trips. Unfortunate events such as sickness, medical issues, injuries or any kinds of accidents are possible measures that can ruin your trip or can even add threats to your life.

We can suggest some of the reputed insurance companies that can come in handy to you. You better be careful while you choose a company and select insurance plans that includes emergency air ambulance rescue service, medical expenses and compensation for trip cancellation, as we do not provide any kind of refunds. Please, formally, provide us a copy of your insurance plans before going for the trip.

Permits and Fees

Peak season: [Sep, Oct, Nov] – US $ 70 for the first week and US$ 10 per day thereafter
Other times: US$ 50 for the first week and US$ 7 per day thereafter
The permit fee goes to the Ministry of Immigration. Additionally, you must have both the MCAP and ACAP permits which are contributions to the Nepal Trust for Nature Conservation which manage both of these areas. If you are only visiting Tsum, and not crossing the Larkya La, then you’ll not need the ACAP permit.

We did (3 people) a 3 weeks total autonomy trek in the Manaslu region. The organization was perfect. We reach the Larke Pass (~5100m) after 2 weeks. Memorable trip to Manaslu Larke pass

I have just finished the Manaslu Larke pass trek. It was a great experience and we enjoyed great weather and mostly warm temperatures during the day. Sabin, our trekking guide from Life Dream Adventure, he cared for all details and was always very attentive. He has a sound experience as trekking guide and knows this trek and the good places to stay he know very well.
