Nuptse Expedition - 43 Days
Nuptse Expedition is one of the interesting expedition’s lies in the Khumbu region. This wonderful mountain was first summitted by a British expedition on the north-ridge on May 16 1961 by Dennis Davis and Tashi Sherpa. This mountain shares in the glory of the Everest massif and is in the southern border of the western Chom viewed from the Thangboche monastery. It appears as a massive wall guarding the approach to Everest. The name Nuptse is Tibetan, which means west peak, as it is the western part of the Lhotse-Nuptse-massif. The main ridge, which is separated from Lhotse by a 1556m high saddle is crowned by seven peaks and goes west North West until its steep west-face drops down more than 2300m to the Khumbu glaciers. The north face is supporting an expedition to climb a new route on the North-face of Nuptse. Nuptse Expedition route is an extremely steep ice and rock mixed climb called “The Snake”. The steep and rocky south-face of Nuptse is 2500m high and 5 kilometers wide. The worth slopes are rising from the western- Chom valley with the upper part of the Khumbu-glacier above its famous icefall.
Since it lies in the Khumbu region itself, it’s very easy to access, as you can get daily flight to Lukla and from there you could trek to various places like Phakding, Namche Bazaar. Before you proceed further, you’ll have to stay overnight or days for acclimatization. But our guides and porters would provide enough help and co-ordination. Then you could continue via various places like- Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, kalapathar etc until you reach at Base Camp of Nuptse. By the time you reach here, you might be required to take frequent acclimatization and rest continuously. After you are at the Base Camp, then you could start for the expedition of Mt. Nuptse, which may take around 30 days. After the completion of it, you may return to Kathmandu.
Itinerary could be designed under the complete satisfaction of yours. We offer the various expeditions of your choice, like that of Everest Expedition, Annapurna Expedition, Pumori Expedition etc.
