Nepal with superb views of mountains. Nagarkot hiking is easy tour to explore
the beautiful landscape of Kathmandu hillside with panoramic views of Himalayas
towards the north of Kathmandu in short period of time.
The Nagarkot is
famous as sunrise and sunset view station at the elevation of 2195m /7200ft
from the sea level. It lies about 32 km far from Kathmandu and offers quiet and
scenic hilltop environment with greenery surrounding. Nagarkot is famous because
of easy access and the panorama of the Himalayas ranging from the Dhaulagiri in
the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. With the help of binocular one can see
the Mt Everest, the highest peak on the earth from the view station. The closer
view of Langtang range offers beautiful view of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa,
Jugal Himal and more. Besides these Gaurshnakar Himal range and Manaslu ranges
are little far from the hill.
Nagarkot hike
starts after an hour drive from Kathmandu. We reach at the hiking starting
place call Sankhu, a Newari town towards the east of Kathmandu valley. The
hiking takes about four hours to reach the Nagarkot hill top. The hiking trail
passes through scattered villages, forests and farmlands with full of
countryside experience. Early afternoon you will reach at the top of Nagarkot
and will have time for meal and enjoy the panoramic views from here.

Day 01: After
the early morning breakfast, drive to Sankhu for 1 hr and hike about 3.5 -
4 hrs to Nagarkot. Watch sunset on the Himalaya .Overnight at a hotel in
Nagarkot.
Day 02:Wake up
early in the morning for sunrise view over Himalayas. Enjoy the beautiful
landscape and Kathmandu valley. After having breakfast, hike to Changunaryan at
around 9 am. It takes about 3 hours reach to Changunarayan temple by hiking down.
Explore the 5th century monument and enjoy the views of Hills and valley, you
will drive back to Kathmandu which takes about one and half hour.
